Congratulations to Sue Allen (Swinton) who has won the National senior singles title. Daniel Agar for reaching the semi-finals of the Sutton Winston Trophy and Liam Creaser (Walkington) for reaching the semi-finals of the Sutton Winston Plate.
At last week's Bowls England Ladies Dinner Sian Honnor (Bowls International Editor) and again at our County's Men's Dinner Bill Smith (Bowls England President) spoke of the money that has been raised £12,000 so far by the sale of the 'Hotshots of Bowls Calendar'.
In July this year Hannah Overton 29 was diagnosed with Leukemia, over a few drinks at the National Championships in Leamington a number of well known names in bowls (male and female) talked about producing a 'Calendar Girls' style calendar. This was launched last month and you can see from the above figure how popular it has been, so much so it has required a re-print.
A few years ago Yorkshire lost a promising young bowler in Carol McLean and only yesterday Sue Shrimpton (Riccall) passed away following a brave fight against the illness.
I am sure most of your member will have lost someone close to them so please urge your members to support the brave bowlers who have banded together to do their bit to raise money for a worthy charity.
